Simplihacks is a 24 hour virtual hackathon presented by School Simplified. Simplihacks is here to bring a great experience to everyone of all skill levels. Come in and learn more skills to add into your toolbox, walk out with cool prizes and new friends!

Cross Submissions are allowed as long as the other hackathon you submit to is fine with and it is all created this weekend

For shipping reasons, if you are not in the United States you are ineligible for physical prizes

Requirements

Any software or hardware project created entirely during the hacking period (June 19-20) may be submitted. 

1. You must include code in your submission (Preferrably a GitHub repo, attatched zips are allowed)

2. You must include a < 3 minute video showing your project

3. You must include a description of your project

Cross submissions are allowed as long as the other Hackathon you submit to is fine with it

You must be currently enrolled student in high or middle school (6-12)

Judging Criteria

  • Creativity
    Is the hack more than just another generic social/mobile/local app? Does it do something entirely novel, or at least take a fresh approach to an old problem? How original is it?
  • Technical Complexity
    Is the hack technically interesting or difficult? Is it just some lipstick on an API, or were there real technical challenges to surmount? How difficult is the stack being used?
  • Design
    Is the hack aesthetically pleasing? Does the design of the hack elevate its message? Did the team put thought into the user experience? How well designed is the interface?
  • Execution
    How well did you achieve what you set out to do? How polished is your project? Are the features you included functional and thorough? How functional is your project? Does it serve a purpose?
